Flyers winger Jake Voracek was not injured when he crashed his Ferrari into a truck in his hometown of Kladno, Czech Republic at 11:30 a.m. Kladno time on Wednesday.

Pictures of the car on Sport.cz's website sure make it look like Voracek, 23, was lucky to walk away from the accident with no injuries.

Voracek is in good spirits after the crash as evidenced by the text that he sent to co-worker Randy Miller:

"All good. No injuries. That's good! Can't talk now. Very busy :) haha "

According to a Google translation of the Sport.cz report, Voracek was speeding down the road when a truck coming from the opposite direction slowed down to turn left.

"(Voracek) failed to comply with safe distance from the vehicle ahead," Kladno police spokeswoman Michaela Novakova told Sport.cz.

The report says that to avoid a head-on collision the truck tried pulling back to the right, but Voracek's car still hit the truck and then went off the road into a tree and telephone pole. Kladno police told Sport.cz that Voracek admitted fault in the accident and paid fines.

“I spoke with Jake this morning," Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said in a press release. "Although his car did suffer damage, there were no injuries. Jake is fine.”

Voracek's car accident will likely strike a nerve with Flyers fans who remember goalie Pelle Lindbergh, a Flyers goalie who died in a car accident in 1985 at age 26 when he crashed his Porsche in Somerdale.

Thankfully, this story has a much different ending. Check back tomorrow for the full story.
